Kate Hudson is an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actress.

Kate's role in drama Almost Famous was critically acclaimed. She has also starred in the hilarious How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Skeleton Key, You, Me and Dupre, Bride Wars and more.

Hudson is of English, Italian and Ashkenazi Jewish descent and was raised in her mathernal grandmother's Jewish religion. Her family also practiced Buddhism.

The daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and actor Bill Hudson, Kate may have reaped the benefits of being born into the right family. When Kate was only eighteen months old, her parents divorced.

Kate and brother Oliver Hudson were raised in Colorado with her mother and her mother's boyfriend, actor Kurt Russell. Hudson and her biological father are estranged. Kate has said that her father "doesn't know me from a hole in the wall" and that she considers Kurt Russell to be her dad.

Kate Hudson was accepted into New York University but chose acting instead of pursuing an undergraduate degree. She married rocker Chris Robinson in 2000 and filed for divorce in 2006, citing "irreconcilable differences"
