Katy Perry Bio

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson is a singer-songwriter and musician. Unlike her religious upbringing, Katy Perry is a bit wild. She grew up listening to gospel music and singing in the church, but it is her 2008 catchy bi-curious anthem "I Kissed a Girl" that made her a household name.

Ms. Perry signed on with Capitol Music Group in 2007 and released her first mainstream album, One of the Boys. The record includes hits "I Kissed a Girl," "Hot N Cold" and "Thinking of You." One of the boys has been certified triple platinum in the United States.

It is Katy's old school fashion choices - a mixture of granny panties with bright colors - that represents her signature style. She was dating Gym Class Heroes Travis McCoy; after the breakup both parties dissed each other by making derogatory comments.

Katy has also written songs for Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson including Clarkson's 2009 single "I do not hook up." She has also been nominated for various awards including the 2009 Grammys.
