Kelis Bio

Kelis is the Harlem born and bred R&B singer-songwriter with attitude and style. Kelis has been nominated for two Grammys, has one a BRIT award and has had nine Top 40 singles as a solo artist. As a featured artist, Kelis has had 6 Top 40 singles to date.

As a child, Kelis played the violin, piano, saxophone and sang in church choirs.

Kelis was detained by the Miami Beach po po and charged with disorderly contact for rushing toward and screaming profanities at undercover police officers posing as prostitutes. She was released on $1,500 bond. Kelis is fierce!

In April 2009, Kelis filed from divorce from rapper husband Nas. The couple had been together for seven years and married for four.
