Bio

Leighton Meester is an actress and aspiring singer-songwriter best known for playing a fierce, evil vixen on Gossip Girl.

Leighton's parents were involved in a drug ring that smuggled marijuana from Jamaica to the United States. And Leighton is not ashamed! She has said that her and her mother are best friends and she isn't embarassed of her upbringing.

Leighton's mother, Connie, was pregnant when she was incarcerated. However, Leighton was delivered at a Texas hospital.

Leighton's interest in acting sparked after she appeared in a local production of "The Wizard of Oz." When she was 11, she moved with her fam to the NYC and began working as a model, getting gigs with Ralph Lauren and more.

Leighton had her television debut in a1999 episode of Law & Order before moving on to land guest roles in Crossing Jordan, 7th Heaven, Entourage, 24, Veronica Mars and more.

Leighton is currently branching out into more film work and she has a debut album that's scheduled to drop in 2009.
