Mariah Carey Bio
Mariah Carey is a singer-songwriter and record producer who filmed an epic episode of MTV's Cribs and is known for being conceited.
Mariah made her recording debut in 1990 on Columbia Records. She was the first recording artist to have her first five singles make the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Mariah also became Columbia's highest-selling act!
Mariah married Columbia executive Tommy Mottola in 1993 and got divorced in 1997.
When Mariah left Columbia in 2001, her popularity was declining. She then came out with the colossal bomb that was Glitter, a crappy film with a crappy soundtrack. Around the time of Glitter, Mariah's voice sounded shot! The woman with the 7-octave range vocals was often whispering in her songs. It was scary.
In 2002, Mariah signed on with Island records and had a huge comeback in 2005.
Mariah has the most no.1 singles for a solo artist in the United States and has a slew of awards. April 2009 marked Mariah's 1-year anniversary to her trophy husband, Nick Cannon. We're still waiting for her to get knocked up.
