Matt Giraud is a piano-playing American Idol season eight finalist. Matt began playing clubs in Kalamazoo Michigan before auditioning for the hit reality talent competition. Matt Giraud is an ambitious aspiring musician; he's already released two records: Perspective in 2003 and Mind Body and Soul in 2006.
The cute singer auditioned for the eighth single of American Idol in Louisville, Kentucky. Judge Randy Jackson named him among his "top 5" early favorites. Luckily, Matt was brought back for the Wild Card show where he became part of the Top 13.
On April 15, 2009, Matt helped to make history. He is the first American Idol contestant who has been voted off by the public but still remains. The judges used their new "Judges Save" where they grant immunity to one voted off contestant per season.
