Owen Wilson is a comic actor and Academy Award nominated writer. He began his movie career starring in the independent movie Bottle Rockets (1996), a low-budget flick that he co-wrote with director Wes Anderson. It wasn't until 1998's Armageddon that Owen became a breakout. Permanent Midnight with co-star Ben Stiller was also a success.
Since the late '90s, Owen's resume has grown ostensibly. He's appeared in films including Meet the Parents, Zoolander, and Behind Enemy Lines. Owen also co-wrote Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. The talented actor has appeared in more than twenty films including Starsky and Hutch, Meet the Fockers, Wedding Crashers and You, Me and DuPree (2006, with Kate Hudson).
After filming You, Me and Dupree, Owen began dating Kate Hudson. On August 26, 2007 Owen was taken to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, and then at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Neither Wilson or the hospitals have given a reason for his hospitalization, but newspapers have widely reported it as a suicide attempt. Owen's brothers Luke and Andrew are also actors. Luke and Kate began dating again in the beginning of 2009 and split for a second time in April of the same year.
