Bio

Ray J is a singer, record producer, sex tape star and reality TV personality. He is the younger brother of R&B singer Brandy.

He is best known for making a sex tape in 2006 with Kim Kardashian called "Kim Kardashian Superstar" which is distributed by Vivid Entertainment. Arguably, most of Ray J's success has arrived recently with his hit single "Sexy Can I" and Vh1 dating show For the Love of Ray J.

At age eight, Ray J began auditioning for and appearing in television commercials. He broke into mainstream by playing a foster son in The Sinbad Show.

He was signed to Elektra Records in 1995 and released his debut album Everything You Want the following year. "Let It Go" appeared on the Set It Off soundtrack. It peaked number 25 in the U.S. and number 11 in New Zealand. The second single peaked at #54 on the U.S. R&B chart. He appeared in Brandy's TV show, Moesha as Brandy's little cousin, D-Money.

Surprisingly Ray J produced music for several commercials!

Ray J's "Another Day In Paradise" duet with Brandy was a Top Ten success in Austria, UK, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Ireland, the Netherlands and #11 in Australia and France.

Ray J also worked with The Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins and Lil' Kim for his second studio album This Ain't A Game, a pop-oriented record. The album was unsuccessful, "Wait A Minute" peaked at #30 on the U.S. Hot 100 chart and #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

After a two year break, Ray J tried again! Hit hit the studio with Rodney Jenkins, Timbaland and R. Kelly for his third album, Raydiation. It was released on September 27, 2005. It debuted at #48 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 18, 321 copies in the first week. Ouch!

Raydiation almost went gold - it eventually sold 400,000 copies in the States. That same year Ray J joined UPN's One on One, playing D-Mack for the show's final season.

Ray J's fourth album All I Feel was released on April 1, 2008. The first single "Sexy Can I" peaked at a very impressive #3 on the Top Singles Hot 100 for six weeks! Ray J has jumped into reality TV with reality dating show For the Love of Ray J. The show premiered on February 2, 2009.
