Robyn Rihanna Fenty is a singer, model and former beauty queen from Barbados. She is also the cultural ambassador for Barbados and the first Barbadian artist to win a Grammy Award. She is currently signed to Def Jam Recordings label and has had five Billboard Hot 100 number one hits thus far.
In 2005 Rihanna released Music of the Sun which featured the #2 hit single "Pon De Replay." Less than a year later she released A Girl Like Me and had her first #1 single, "SOS."
In 2007 she released her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad along with a Reloaded edition and she's been riding the success of Good Girl Gone Bad with a crazy eight singles! Rihanna will release a ninth single "Breakin' Dishes" this year.
The young beauty is also a Cover Girl model and Rihanna is known for her beauty and sexy costume costumes. Many fans and bloggers have even nicknamed her Princess RiRi. She's also beautiful enough to chop off all her hair and still look glam and gorgeous. Many fans have requested "The Rihanna" and have chopped off their locks too.
The sexy singer is a current pop culture staple. After RiRi's first Good Girl Gone Bad single "Umbrella" dominated the charts in the summer of '07, the R&B diva's music played on radio stations and nightclub speakers incessantly.
However, Ms. Fenty's personal life took a turn for the worst on February 7, 2009 when boyfriend Chris Brown allegedly beat her and made criminal threats. She had to cancel her 2009 Grammy Awards performance set for the following day.
A picture of Rihanna's face was leaked to paparazzi site TMZ. Consequently, an organization known as STOParazzi is proposing "Rihanna's Law," which, if enacted, would "deter employees of law enforcement agencies from releasing photos or information that exploits crime victims."
