Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor with Mormon parents and no formal acting training. Oh no! Ryan is best known for his roles in The Notebook, Half Nelson and Lars and the Real Girl.
Ryan often got into fights in school with fellow students while growing up. It wasn't too long before his mother had enough and began home schooling him when he was 10.
Ryan later joined the public school system only to drop out of high school at the age of seventeen.
Ryan moved to L.A. in 1997 where his luck began to change. He was living at an apartment of director Ron Oliver who cast him in Goosebumps and Breaker High. Talk about one door closing and another door opening, literally!
