Sarah Michelle Gellar is a television and film actress. She established her fanbase and gained popularity after starring as Buffy Sanders in the popular TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The Buffy series has won six Teen Choice Awards, the Saturn Award for Best Genre TV Actress and Sarah has also received a Golden Globe Award nomination. She has also won a Daytime Emmy Award for playing Kendall Hart in All My Children.
Born in Manhattan, the petite star was discovered by an agent while at a restaurant at the age of four!
The success of Buffy opened doors for Ms. Gellar. In 1997 she starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2, both films were released the same year.
She met actor Freddie Prinze Jr. on the set of I Know What You Did and they wed in 2002. They also starred together in 2002's big screen adaptation of Scooby Doo as well as the 2004 sequel Scooby Doo 2. In 2004 it began to look like the former ass-kicker from Buffy was now typecast. She starred in The Grudge and The Grudge 2.
Freddie and Sarah are not tabloid fodder. They don't have A-List status and they live their lives under the radar, which makes it easier to remain together. In April 2009 Sarah announced that she is expecting her first baby with hubby Freddie in the fall.
