Simon Cowell is an English television personality, A&R executive, television producer, and entrepreneur.

Known in the States for being the harshest judge on the highest rated reality show in the States, American Idol, Simon is known for telling it like it is. It is his no holds barred style that is what has made him so popular. Fans can't wait to see what insult he will be serving up next.

Simon's music industry career began in 1979 when his father got him a job at EMI records.

He climbed the ladder, working in the mail room and learning about the industry. From there he was promoted to various departments where he became well versed on the industry. A few years after Simon left EMI, the company collapsed. No relation. Heh.

BMG offered Mr. Cowell an A&R consultant position in 1989 and he ate it up! He has pioneered some of the biggest selling hits in the industry, including bands 'Five' and 'Westlife.'

The business man is also dirty, filthy rich!

Over a ten year span, Simon's company 'S Records' sold over 25 million albums, over 70 top 30 records and 17 number 1 singles. Not bad!

Simon has been involved in Popstars which paved the way for Pop Idol and spin off American Idol. He is also on the judging panel for The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.

Simon's got drive, attitude and vision; he is absolutely brilliant. The haters can keep spewing their rubbish.
