Tobey Maguire Bio

Tobey Maguire was born June 27, 1975 in Santa Monica, California. His parents who were only 18 and 20 when Tobey was born, divorced when he was two years old. At that time, he spent a good deal of his childhood moving from town to town and living with each parent and other family members. Tobey may not have become the movie star he is had it not been for his mother offering him $100 to take a drama class instead of home economics. Funny how those things work out!

He has been in numerous movies such as The Cider House Rules, Wonder Boys, Tropic Thunder, Brothers, and Seabiscuit but is probably best known for his role as Peter Parker in Spider-man. He reprised the role of Peter in the 2nd and 3rd installment of Spider-Man also. Unfortunately there won't be another Tobey Spidey film as he along with director Sam Raimi, were dropped from the next Spider-man installment.

At least Tobey has his wife Jennifer Meyer and daughter Ruby Sweetheart to console him over his Spider-man heart ache.
