Bio

Zooey Deschanel is the indie singer-songwriter and actress who looks like Katy Perry and has a famous actress sister, Emily Deschanel.

She is coming into her own by playing a quirky nerd named Jess on Fox's hit comedy "New Girl"

Like many people in Hollywood, Zooey had the hookup. Her father is a cinematographer and director and her mother is an actress.

Zooey has appeared in indie films as well as popular movies like Almost Famous, Elf, Failure to Launch and Yes Man.

In addition to singing, Zooey plays the keyboards, percussion, banjo and ukulele. Zooey's band, She and Him has released two albums, one in 2008, Volume One, and another in 2010, Volume Two.

Zooey attended Northwestern University for seven months before dropping out to pursue an acting career. Looks like that was the right choice!
