Amber Portwood Sentenced to 5 Years In Prison

If you feel like you’ve read that headline before, it’s because this isn’t the first time that Teen Mom trainwreck Amber Portwood received a 5 year prison sentence. She appeared in court today as part of a desperate last-minute bid to avoid jail time, but the judge refused to reimpose her sentence.

TMZ reports that the judge in Amber’s case claimed he had “no choice” but to enforce the terms of Amber’s plea agreement and send her to the slammer. Makes sense, considering Amber previously thought of herself as such a threat to society that she requested jail time.

Amber’s legal woes stem from a domestic violence conviction and a number of probation violations. No word yet on when she’ll begin serving her sentence.

Amber Portwood Wants Jail Time, Turns Herself In

Amber Portwood of Teen Mom told a judge to send her to prison because she hasn’t stayed clean since beginning her rehab program and will always be a “bad girl.” Amber was sentenced to 5 years in jail in January but was given the opportunity to successfully complete a drug rehab program instead. Because she’s an idiot, impulsive drama queen, Amber asked the judge to send her to jail instead of rehab.

Amber’s lawyer stood in shook and shook his head while Amber asked for jail time. Yesterday Portwood was handcuffed and taken into custody. She appeared emotionless on her way to court. Amber will remain in custody at the Madison County jail until her sentencing in a few weeks.

Whatever! That is all.

Amber Portwood: Back In Jail

Amber Portwood is back behind bars. Authorities claim the Teen Mom star lied about a medical condition in order to get out of a mandated drug test.

Amber didn’t show up drug court and then claimed that she was on doctor-ordered bed rest for 2-3 weeks following gall bladder surgery. When Amber’s probation officer called her doctor to corroborate the story and found out that it was a fabrication, he ordered that she be returned to jail immediately. Amber is expected to remain locked up for at least two weeks while the court decides her future.

Amber served two months behind bars earlier this year for a probation violation. She could face several years in prison for her latest stunt.

Amber Portwood Faces 5 Year Prison Sentence After Missing Drug Test

Amber Portwood may be facing some serious legal trouble…serious even by the standards of Teen Mom stars.

Amber is required to submit to routine drug tests during her probation period, which shouldn’t be difficult considering she’s still on home confinement. But on Monday, it seems the trainwreck mom couldn’t pee for her daily test and her supposed bladder difficulties could land her in jail for five years.

Amber is due in court later today, at which time she’ll have to answer for the missed test or face serving out the five years she’s already been sentenced to. In the court’s eyes, not providing a sample is the same as failing a test, so Amber has some serious explaining to do.

Amber Portwood Under Strict Home Detention Rules

Amber Portwood falls on and off the wagon like it’s a game of musical chairs. And it has hit the point where it is not even fun anymore.

For her latest transgressions, Amber is under home detention, a sentence accompanied by a slew of other conditions. She can’t drink alcohol, use mouthwash, drink nonalcoholic beer, or eat foods that contain alcohol, for instance.

Our dear Amber should count herself lucky, though. The Teen Mom was barred from entering a halfway house because–get this!–they thought she would be a bad influence (never mind her regular appearance on a widely broadcast MTV reality show). For now, she’s living at her grandparents’ house and cannot leave unless she gets permission for things like going to AA meetings or attending legal appointments.

So…is this another fresh start, Amber? I won’t keep my fingers crossed.

Amber Portwood Released From Jail

After two months behind bars, Amber Portwood has been released back into the wild. Under normal circumstances, an inmate with Amber’s history would be sent to a halfway house to help ease her transition back into society. Unfortunately for Amber, no halfway house would take her. Seriously.

Sister 2 Sister Ministries operates the “transitional home” that was supposed to house Amber upon her release, but the powers that be determined that (according to TMZ) Portwood “embodies too much negative energy” and would be unlikely to benefit from their services. Harsh!

But they can’t keep Amber behind bars forever, so the judge released her on the condition that she wear a monitoring bracelet and submit to home confinement. Amber will be required to continue applying to halfway houses and drug treatment programs. Hopefully she’ll eventually find one to accept her. When rehab programs want nothing to do with you, that’s gotta be a blow to your self-esteem.

Amber Portwood Forced to Quit Teen Mom

Remember when Amber Portwood would whine about starring on Teen Mom? MTV gave Amber much more money than her white trash self would have ever made in Indiana on her own, but she continued to get into legal trouble, and now her days on Teen Mom appear to be over.

TMZ reports that Amber has been ordered to live in a halfway house for up to 3 years and she must get a court approved 9-to-5 job where she must work at least 5 days a week.

Teen Mom does not count as a job! The judge also banned Amber from taping any MTV projects at the halfway house, while she’s at work or while she appears in court!

Also, Amber is not allowed to tape anything while hanging out with any other girls who also live at the halfway house. MTV assured the court it would not sue Amber for breaking her contract with the show because of the sentencing … a sure sign they are planning on moving on from her story.

Amber Portwood Ordered to Rehab

Amber Portwood struck a plea deal with prosecutors that would allow her to avoid a 5-year prison sentence if she goes to rehab. An Indiana judge approved the deal today!

If Amber completes rehab, her drug case will be entirely dismissed.

Portwood was arrested in December for drug possession and ailing to provide a urine sample. She will remain in custody until a full evaluation is completed by the Drug Court team, which could take up to two weeks. The judge will release the Teen Mom trainwreck once she’s accepted into the program.

Everyone deserves a second chance. In Amber’s case, this is more like a 6th chance, but whatever. I could care less about her, I just hope she gets her act together for her daughter Leah.
