Damnit! One of our favorite couples has called it quits. Michelle Williams seemed so happy with Jason Segel and he seemed just as crazy about her. The couple quietly broke up earlier this month.

The former couple was spotted together in Cancun just last month. Long distance is reportedly to blame. Michelle lives in New York and Jason works in LA. In March, a source said that the couple is “totally in love. Jason is obsessed with Michelle.” Awwww.

Jason has been a father figure for Michelle’s daughter Matilda, 7. This split is going to be hard on her. In April Jason told Extra: “I think we would just very much like to be happy. That’s all I’m going to say about it.”

This is bullsh!t. “That’s all I’m going to say about it.”

Michelle Williams explained that she has short hair because Heath Ledger loves short hair on women. Now that she's been dating Jason Segel for a while, Michelle has clearly moved on. I've noticed that she was growing her hair out and now she's confirmed it.

Michelle told E! News:

“I think I’m ready. It’s on its way, slowly but surely. That's why I’ve stayed with short hair for so long. The mid-stage is insufferable. It’s really hard on your self-esteem.”

Good for Michelle!! It's no nice to see her so happy these days. Unlike Miley Cyrus, who (at 20 years old) says she'll never have long hair again, it's good to change up your hairstyle when you can. It'll be nice to see what Michelle looks like with long locks again.

Michelle Williams and Jason Segel are moving ridiculously fast, but in this case it seems like a good thing. They may be the most likable couple in Hollywood right now, and after everything Michelle and her daughter have been through, it’s good to see them with a goofy, nice-guy type like Jason in their lives.

That’s Jason and Michelle’s 6 year-old daughter Matilda hanging out in Brooklyn yesterday and based on the amount of time these two spend together, it’s safe to assume Michelle and Jason are in it for the long haul. “They’ve started to become a family unit,” a friend of the couple tells Us Weekly.

Matilda, of course, is Michelle’s daughter by late actor Heath Ledger. Michelle and Jason have been dating for about four months, and it’s the first time we’ve seen her get serious with a guy and let her guard down with the press since Ledger passed in 2008.

Michelle Williams didn't walk the red carpet at last night's NYC premiere of The Five Year Engagement, starring Jason Segel, but Michelle went to the afterparty where she and Jason were "inseparable." Michelle, 31, and Jason, 32, showed some PDA when Michelle kissed her boyfriend's cheek and rubbed his back.

Jason put his arm around her waist and "they definitely seemed to have a physical chemistry," an eyewitness reports.

Just last week, Jason was spotted with photos of Michelle taped to the back of his cell phone. He recently said: "I hit my thirties and enough became enough. I'm ready to enter phase three… A lot of people say 'I do' to a moment, but they don't realize they're saying 'I do' to a lifetime."

I like these two so much together that they've already made me nervous! MAKE IT WORK Y'ALL! I'd love to see Michelle and Jason make it to the altar.

Three time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and puppet enthusiast Jason Segel are rumored to be dating. Jason’s funny, his career’s taking off, and he seems like a nice enough guy, but we can’t really say this is the direction we expected Michelle to go in after Heath Ledger.

Jason and Michelle have been spotted hanging out in NYC together multiple times, often with Michelle’s six year-old daughter, Matilda, in tow. Us Weekly reports that the pair are “smitten and very serious.” An anonymous source is said to have confirmed the relationship to the tabloid saying, “[Michelle] hasn’t been this happy in a long time,” and adding that the two are struggling to figure out a long-term solution for their bi-coastal romance.

Hey, it’s always the couples no one saw coming that seem to make it work. Besides, Michelle’s a mom first and foremost; a dude who’s down with the Muppets might be just what she needs in her life.

Such sh!tty timing. Michelle Williams won a Golden Globe Award for her impressive portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn and the talented star from Dawson’s Creek is also nominated for an Academy Award. But Michelle doesn’t play by Hollywood’s rules. She lives in Brooklyn, she’s fiercely private, she puts work before whoring herself out on every red carpet. Williams told E! News “I just want to go back to being a mom for a while.”

Michelle says that even when she’s working she still thinks about her daughter Matilda and “can’t wait to get back to her at the end of the day.” She added: Raising my daughter is my absolute priority. Everything I do is to make Matilda’s world as happy and secure as possible.” Williams just wrapped up Oz: The Great and Powerful, in which she plays Glinda the Good Witch. The film will be out next year.

With the 2012 Oscar ceremony just over a month away, the nominees were finally announced today. Martin Scorsese’s first children’s movie, Hugo, leads the pack with 11 nominations, while George Clooney‘s The Descendants and silent film The Artist also made strong showings.

In the acting department, Clooney and Brad Pitt will battle it out for the top prize, while young stars like Rooney Mara and Michelle Williams received nominations for best actress. It’s the first nod for Mara and the third (!) for Williams. Someone give this girl an Oscar, already!

Michelle Williams – who won a Golden Globe on Sunday for her performance in My Week With Marilyn – is featured in the new issue of GQ and she surprises us not only with the hotness of her photo spread (see evidence below), but also with her candidness about her career, her family, and the death of her daughter’s father, Heath Ledger.

“I felt like I was going crazy,” Michelle told the mag. “It was too much – trying to deal with what had happened and trying to deal with what was at our doorstep. I just felt trapped… I can’t make it stop, I can’t make it go away.” Heavy stuff, but the actress has persevered admirably, and now (unlike the rest of her former Dawson’s Creek co-stars) her career is hotter than ever. We’re telling you, Lindsay…you should be studying this girl’s every move.
