Best New Streaming Shows for Release in 2021

Due to the pandemic and the lockdown that followed, most movie productions were stalled, those that were already done with filming couldn’t release due to locked cinemas.  With 2021 around the corner, there is set to be a lot of releases on streaming sites. Let’s take a look at some of these top-notch shows planned for release this 2021;


The Witcher (season 2)

Productions for the second season of the Witcher was stalled last year due to the lockdown that followed the pandemic. According to reports, filming has resumed once again for the second season. The release is expected by late 2021.

Shadow and Bone

Based on the first of the fantasy trilogy Grisha by Leigh Bardugo. Production for the show started in October 2019 and was summarised just before the lockdown in February 2020. The show is expected to have its own language just like Game of Thrones. The show is billed to be released in April 2021.

Resident Evil

The cinema depiction of the Capcom game is set to continue its release this year. The film Is set to be released in late 2021.

The Sandman

The Sandman series is an adaptation of one of the DC comics The Sandman, which was a New York Times bestseller. The show which was supposed to start production in May 2020, was paused due to the lockdown. Filming was resumed again in October 2020. The first season is billed to have 11 episodes and release is expected by late 2021.


The streaming platform of Disney is lock and loaded to release lots of movies and shows this year. Most of them from the marvel cinematic universe.

Wanda Vision

Wanda vision, a spin-off from the Avengers series, is set to follow the Avengers super-hero Wanda. The movie is set to be released on January 15.


The Asgardian character played by TomHiddleston is set to have its first personal show. The show is set to come with a lot of crime-thriller scenes, which is expected to owe to the fact that Loki is known as the god of mischief. The series is set to be released in May 2021.

The Falcon and Winter Soldier

Following the time after the Avengers End game. The Marvel cinematic movie was supposed to be released in August 2020, but due to the pandemic, it is set to be released on 19 March 2021, just after the release of WandaVision.


The Miniseries of the Avengers superhero is expected to be released late this year, no date has been set yet. The series will also introduce Hailee Steinfeld who is set to replace the aging Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.


Zack Synder’s Justice league

The four-part movie was first released in 2017 to poor applause. A re-release without the original director Zack Snyder is billed for March 2021.

Green Lantern

The live-action series by DC comics. The 10 episodes series which started filming in October 2019 is set to be released by late 2021.

Gossip Girl

The reboot of the CW series was initially billed to be released by fall 2020, but filming did not start up until October 2020. The series is expected to be released by late 2021.
