American Idol loser Paul McDonald is dating actress Nikki Reed of Twilight. Paul, an aspiring mainstream musician from the South, has hit the lottery now that he’s dating a B-lister. And he knows it. Paul is reportedly trying to get the hookup!

The National Enquirer reports: Paul is pressuring Nikki to introduce him to her agents, studio executives and even her ‘Twilight’ co-stars. His own friends are predicting he’ll leave Nikki as soon as he gets his big post ‘Idol’ break.”

I don’t necessarily agree with this blurb simply because any aspiring mainstream entertainer would ask the person that they’re giving it to if that person could help ‘em out. Plus, Paul isn’t going to leave Nikki as soon as he gets a big break! He’s going to cheat on her first.

Paul McDonald spoke with Us magazine about his run on American Idol this season, but the topic that made it into the tabloid’s headline was his doomed relationship with Twilight‘s Nikki Reed. We’ll focus on that, too, since we don’t care about his music.

Are you as sad that the Twilight movies are ending as we are?! [laughs] I’ve never watched the movies or read the books. Everyone keeps asking me [now that I'm dating Nikki], so I have to go home and do that, so I don’t look like such a fool.

Nikki didn’t make that required viewing for you? Not at all. I think she’s kind of happy I haven’t seen ‘em. I’m a fan of whatever she does, obviously. As soon as she tells me I can watch it, I will.

How have things been going?  She’s supercool and I’m really excited about this one. We went to Malibu the other day and hung out a little bit on my day off. On my one day off, I got to relax and be a grownup again. I ate some fried fish, drank a cold beverage. Life is good, I was happy about that. She’s been supportive of this whole thing, and I’m supportive of everything she does.

How you keep your teeth so white! My parents always made me use Crest toothpaste growing up — Advance Vivid White is what I use. Back in the day I used the Crest White Strips. But I think the reason why my teeth look so white because I have a beard. That’s what you have to do: Grow a beard and your teeth will look whiter! That’s my advice. Crest better give me an endorsement deal!

I’ve searched the Internet for pictures of Paul McDonald just because I’m a loser. Paul McDonald was voted off of American Idol this week, but unlike most American Idol rejects, people will be talking about him for a while. He’s dating Twilight actress Nikki Reed.

The former Idol contestant is a 25 year-old singer-songwriter who plays the guitar, piano, and tambo. Paul was born in Alabama but currently resides in Nashville where he sings for the band The Grand Magnolias. Nikki Reed is 22 and lives LA. We’re glad that Nikki sees something in him that we just don’t. Have fun kids!

After being voted off the show this week, Paul McDonald finally went public with his relationship with Twilight star Nikki Reed. “She’s been real supportive of this whole thing. She’s actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show.”

Sorry, Paul, but that sounds suspiciously like a plug for your own material, rather than a compliment to your girlfriend.

On top of that, McDonald says he hasn’t watched any of Nikki’s work and doesn’t plan to. “I don’t know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool. I told her I’m not watching any of [her movies] for a long time … She said, ‘I don’t want you watching’ and I was like ‘I don’t want to!’”

This is just getting weirder. You’re going to let her support you without supporting her back? You should be grateful you’ve even got the chance to date a movie star, Paul McDonald, you shouldn’t be blabbing about how you won’t ever watch any of her movies.

Maybe they’ll just stay home and compare whose teeth are whiter.
